Traditionally, cultures from the past preserved and shared knowledge by word of mouth. Later by written word, stories and history were accurately recorded saving them from being forgotten for the benefit of generations and millenniums to come.

Overwhelmingly WB Surfings' information is from personal experience and knowledge. They don't teach surfing at Harvard, or anywhere else for that matter.

The Willis Bros. are recognized for surfing and tow-surfing the worlds largest waves:

  • Waimea Bay 1st code black. (50' plus) paddling
  • Outer reef Log Cabins 2nd code black (100'plus) tow-surfing

Issued a certificate of life saving merit for successful rescue under extreme surf conditions from the state of Hawaii. Both the Willis Bros. are known lifesavers. They are recognized for many daring and dangerous rescues saving lives in all conditions on the North Shore of Oahu and worldwide.

Milton and Michael Willis continue to contribute to surfboard shaping and design. Their surfboards have been, and continue to be surfed in the best waves around the world. Waves ranging from 1-100 feet. The surfers who have surfed on their boards reads like a who's who.: Mark Foo, Robie Page, Andy and Bruce Irons, Johnny-boy Gomes, Garrett and Liam McNamarra and many more great surfers of all levels and abilities

The Willis Bros. write a weekly surfing column for an award winning newspaper. They have articles, stories, and essays published worldwide as well as appear extensively in books magazines and newspapers . They have authored "Become a Surfer", and the soon to be released "Tidal Waves and Surfing for the Soul".

Developed the revolutionary and highly successful "Dry Land Program" inspired by Richard Bricker, former president of the Presidents Club and David Vandenberg, president of American Fence Company. State of the art, life, corporate and team training. WB Surfing dry land program utilizes the ABC's of surfing "Always Be Cool" and "Big Wave Surfing Mind Set".

Formed the Association of Professional Surfing Instructors (A.P.S.I.). Safe surfing, ocean knowledge and awareness along with much more are implemented with the highest standards and guidelines. Going surfing with an A.P.S.I. certified instructor takes the term "surfing lesson" to a new level.


Have appeared in, worked on, and consulted for movies, television, videos, and documentaries including the British Broad Casting's gold metal documentary "Walking on Water" based on the cult classic book by Andy Martin featuring the Willis brothers.
